Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone
John 8 vs 3–11
This story of Jesus and the scribes is a pretty interesting one.
In today’s world, we have sinners judging sinners because they sin differently.
Some weeks back, I was to shoot a viral music video for an artiste @sil_bugatti. The concept of the video required that we shoot in a church. The song is an inspirational and motivational song.
Sil Bugatti is such an amazing talent, and I always enjoy working with him. Hopefully his sound and music will be heard soon enough all over the world. You can listen to his music on Audiomack and across all digital platforms.
I approached a friend and brother of mine, who is really close and has access to different priests. He spoke with a priest of a certain church (name withheld), and the venerable agreed that we can shoot in his church.
On the day of our shoot, we got to church and I went to see the vicar to thank him for giving us the opportunity to create Magic in his church.
Lo and behold, on seeing me, the venerable was so furious he chased me out of his office and church.
This is a church of God, and sinners like me can not have access to such sacred property.
He was extremely furious he threatened to call my friend that introduced me to him, and call his father, who is also a venerable in an Anglican church. He shouldn’t be walking with people like me. A bloody sinner!
What was my offense?
I had dreads and piercings.
This is a grave offense in the kingdom of God, and people like us are condemned to eternal damnation.
I also learnt I lost a gig from one of my brothers, because the organizers of the event were devote Christians, and seeing my social media page on Instagram, they turned down the opportunity of working with me.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, the holy scripture says.
These people must strongly believe this is what Jesus would have done, had he been in their shoes.
The discrimination and social injustice creatives (that choose to break from the norm) face cannot be written in a book.
These people are so bent on their ways they see no reason whatsoever with any perspective that’s not theirs.
How then are they different from terrorists?
Yes, I know, a little too far you would say.
Albeit, they do not harm people physically, they kill people emotionally, creatively, socially, intellectually, financially…!
I think they are no different than terrorists, because terrorists also strongly believe in their beliefs without reason!
Even God at creation said: COME, LET US REASON TOGETHER.

P.S.S: I later shot the music video in my church (My church is not as beautiful as the proposed church), and my priest welcomed me with opened arms, although he still passed a comment about my hair. lol
